And we would like you to spend your
vacations with us in Fossalta.
After about 25 years abroad, mostly
in Stockholm, we have returned to Italy.
We offer for rental one furnished
flat of about 40 square metres, standing free and of highest Italian standard with one
double bedroom, living with kitchen and sofa.
It is equipped with full modern
kitchen, bathroom with cabin shower and even bidè. Everything is included in the rent: electricity, gas, hot and
cold water, refrigerator with freezing box, radio, kitchen tools, plates and
everything you need in a kitchen. The cocker is a modern gas cocker.
Washing machine, bed linen, bath and
kitchen towels, parasols and chairs, can be rented with us for a small fee.
Please remember that we do not supply personal,
sanity and consumtions articles!
Our property is situated in the
centre of the town and has belonged to our family since 1920. The building is
totally restored and includes now apartments for turists and also a Bed & Breakfast. The prices are low
compared with similar apartments or rooms you can rent in Italy. The apartment
is for rental by the week from Saturday to Saturday and of course you may stay
as long as you please. Just tell us how long you want to stay when you book the
apartment.
We have privates Parking places
inside our property. Free of charge!
There are several food shops, two
bakeries, several bars and pizzerias in Fossalta (6000 inhabitants), situated
within a short distance. A few kilometres from here you can find a couple of
exquisite, internationally known restaurants. There is a Post Office and two
Banks just a hundred meters from the apartment. If you want to buy Italian
souvenirs to bring home there is also a big store (Carrefour) where you can find
everything you may want included ecologically grown vegetables and make tasty
salads and summer plates.
In the evening when you come home
from the beach perhaps you want to relax. Then you can lay the table in our
garden under wonderful fig trees and enjoy food and wine in the pleasant clima
and peaceful environment.
Do you want to play tennis? Bring
your racket and tennis shoes. You can play in the local tennis club where I am a
member. In the autumn, August-September,
you can take part in the wine harvest with our peasant friends or make a wine
tasting trip around the many “cantinas” of our territory.
Did you get problems with your car?
Massimo’s garage will take care of it at once for reasonable prices.
If you feel sick one day (we don't
want that, do we?) our family doctor will arrive as soon as possible. There is a
pharmacy quite near the apartments.
It takes 15 minutes by car to get to
our natural sand beach by the Adriatic sea and you may be there free of charge.
The Beach Brussa (Bibione) has very fine-grain sand and it is several miles
long. The beach is a nature reservation and it is State owned. It is cleaned out
every year by local "rangers" and "Alpini" (alp-hunters) and
you do not have to pay to use it. There is no risk that you get tread down, the
beach is quiet and peaceful.
There are many famous cities not far
away from us, for ex. Venice 40 minutes by train. In two hours you can easily
and comfortably reach cities like Verona with its magnificent arena (Colosseum)
where they give plays with living horses, elephants etc. You can also look at
the house where the Shakespearian drama about Romeo and Juliet is said to have
taken place. In Marostica you can see chess being played with living pieces on
the central square. In Ravenna you can feel the atmosphere where Dante Alighieri
wrote his Divina Commedia. Trieste "bellissima", the Italian gateway
to the Orient, and the old site of the Habsburg Monarchy can easily be reached
(60 minutes by train). A car trip of 25 minutes will take you to Aquileia which
is a very interesting city of ruins from the Roman time and always a source of
new discoveries. There is so much worth seeing! The list could be endless. There
is a lot of experiences waiting for those who have desire and strength to
discover new things and places. One of the local sights is Count Mocenigo's
Venetian villa with its park (protected by WWF) and its recently restored chapel
in Alvisopoli (1 kilometer from Fossalta). The castle is one of the most
interesting buildings you can see. In count Mocenigo's big garden they give
concerts and comedies throughout the summer. The performances are much
appreciated by the audience and critics. We also have a very fine library in
Fossalta, named after our great author Ippolito Nievo.
As in so many Italian towns we have
annual festivals with local elements, appreciated by the local population and
quite an experience for tourists. If it rains one day you can go shopping to
Portogruaro in the refine shops under the vaults. Portogruaro Centro Storico -
the old town, was built in the 14th century and is quite as stylish as Venice.
There are “too many"
restaurants here. You can afford to take the family out for an extravagant
dinner if you don't feel like cooking yourself.
You will get all this and much more
when you stay as a guest by us in Italy. If you are a group of people
we can discuss different solutions. You can rent th apartment through the
whole year. The climate in Italy is mild not only in June, July and August but
April-May and September-October are very fine months with agreeable temperature
and wonderful sunny days.
The access to fruits and vegetables
is endless and they are cheap too.
During off-season 19 september 2008 -
16 may 2009 the prices are the same, look at the table below! Everything is included,
but heating according to Italian standard will be charged extra with 10 Euro per
day.
